Scheduled

McMaster University's wireless networks use a server-side certificate to secure communication between your device and the wireless infrastructure. University Technology Services (UTS) will be updating this certificate for all Wi-Fi networks on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Certificate updates are required annually to ensure continued secure access.

After the update, some devices may prompt you to accept or verify the new certificate. If you see a dialog asking you to confirm the server certificate, select “Trust” or “Connect” to proceed. This helps ensure that you're connecting to a legitimate McMaster University network and not a malicious “rogue network.”

If you don’t receive a prompt, or if you experience connection issues afterward, you may need to forget the wireless network on your device and reconnect using the setup guides available at:
https://www.mcmaster.ca/uts/network/wireless/cert_update.htm

The following McMaster-authorized Wi-Fi networks will be using the new certificate:

Mac-WiFi (preferred network)
Reznet-WiFi (student residences)
Eduroam (for visitors to McMaster)
Mohawk-WiFi (for IAHS Mohawk students only)
